A column as-built drawing records displacement relative to the axes, elevation marks, and deviations from vertical alignment.

A floor slab as-built drawing may include actual surface elevations, structural thickness, positions of openings, and deviations from the design plane.

A formwork as-built drawing is used to check the position of the formwork before concreting. It does not replace the final inspection of the completed structure, since the formwork or individual elements may move during concreting.

A pipeline as-built drawing should show the actual route, diameters, elevations, slopes, joints, manholes, chambers, and references to permanent objects.

A water supply as-built drawing records the position of pipes, fittings, manholes, and connection points.

A sewerage as-built drawing should additionally confirm actual gradients and elevations, since errors in these values directly affect system performance.

As-built drawings of external utilities are particularly important after backfilling, when the position of underground infrastructure can no longer be visually determined.

Electrical Installation Drawings

An electrical as-built drawing shows the actual position of cables, trays, ducts, equipment, and connection points.

Electrical as-built drawings are necessary when cables are concealed in walls, slabs, trenches, or other locations that become inaccessible after completion.

A cable route as-built drawing should make it possible to identify the actual cable path, installation depth, crossings, joints, and references to permanent objects.

As-Built Drawings for Concealed Works

As-built drawings attached to concealed works inspection reports confirm the actual position of an element that will become inaccessible after the next stage of construction.

For example, when accepting an underground cable line, the inspection report confirms the quality of the concealed work, while the drawing shows the actual route of the line.

A report without reference to a specific section and measurement data provides limited information. Likewise, a drawing without an inspection report does not confirm that the work was properly presented and accepted by the parties responsible for control.

How As-Built Drawings Are Checked

Verification begins by confirming that the document relates to the correct facility, section, and construction stage.

The drawing is then checked against the design drawing, coordinate system, construction axes, and elevation benchmarks.

Actual values are compared with design values and permissible tolerances. If a deviation exceeds the allowable limit, it must not be concealed or replaced with the design value.
